This course is designed to achieve two objectives. A special topic will be chosen by the student, in consultation with the instructor, to identify, define, analyze, or solve a problem in the general area of production systems and processes engineering. Academic inquiry of the identified or specified problem is the first objective. The second objective is to learn the methods of research. Students are required to write a study plan during the first two weeks of the semester. Other requirements include a presentation and a written report which are due before the end of the semester.
